Who is Eligible?

Community Membership

Community membership is open to everyone through the Cal Aggie Alumni Association, which anyone can join for just $50 a year (including those unaffiliated with UC Davis).

UC Davis Student Membership

Currently enrolled UC Davis students may use the Activities & Recreation Center (ARC) at no additional cost.

Payroll Deduction

UC Davis Faculty/Staff: Payroll Deduction now in place. Instead of renewing your membership each month or quarter, choose to have your membership dues automatically deducted from your paycheck each month. To sign up, stop by the Member Services Desk with your faculty/staff ID card and get started today for only $28.33/month.
* Employees must be paid on salary by the University to enroll in Payroll Deduction.

UC Davis faculty and staff may pay for access to the ARC's Group Exercise classes by opting for a monthly payroll deduction of $15. Opting for this deduction provides access to all Group Exercise classes, including cycling, yoga, pilates, abs and core, cardio, and strength and resistance training.

Cancellations: All Payroll Deduction cancellations require 30 days notice.  To cancel, please stop by the ARC Member Services desk with your faculty/staff ID card to fill out a cancellation form.

How to Purchase an ARC Membership

To Purchase a University Affiliate Membership:

All membership purchases must be made at the Business Center, conveniently located inside the ARC.

Check current Business Center hours before coming in to make your purchase.

When you do come in to purchase your membership, be sure to visit the ARC Member Services Desk first to sign a waiver and complete the other paperwork the Business Center will need to process your membership.

  • Memberships can usually be purchased Monday–Friday 11 a.m.–8 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • All ARC members must be 18 or older.
  • ALUMNI/AE: Must be graduated UC Davis alum; bring a copy of diploma.
  • FACULTY/STAFF: Staff photo ID card, or photo ID plus IDOC form.
  • STUDENT AFFILIATES:
    • (UC Davis Extension, Sacramento City College, PELP, IEPP, post-docs, graduate students on filing fee): Proof of affiliation and a photo ID.
    • UC Davis Extension students may purchase an ARC Student Affiliate membership at any time during the quarter in which they take a class (i.e. if you take a 4-week class in January, may purchase an ARC membership at lower rate until March, including day passes, monthly, quarterly, and annual.)
    • Sacramento City College students and faculty/staff may purchase an ARC Student Affiliate membership at any time during the quarter in which they take a class.  Students can bring in their Student ID card and a class schedule, and faculty/staff can bring in their staff ID card to purchase a membership.
  • SPONSORED ASSOCIATES: Active ARC members can sponsor additional members as a sponsored associate. The additional members must be adults and can remain members as long as the active member continues sponsorship.  Active ARC member must be present upon signing up and renewing the sponsored associate. Photo ID required at time of purchase.
  • FAMILY MEMBERSHIPS: Eligible ARC Members can sponsor additional family members. The family members must be adults and can remain members as long as the sponsor remains eligible. Eligible ARC member must be present upon signing up and renewing family members. Both must have photo ID at time of purchase.

  • All Community ARC members must be 18 or older and current CAAA members at time of purchase.  Must continue CAAA membership throughout duration of ARC membership and to renew ARC membership
  • Current Cal Aggie Alumni Association Membership Card, or: credit card for online purchase of CAAA Membership Annual Fee
  • Payment may be a one-time purchase for a quarterly membership, or for an annual membership (pro-rated on the fiscal year). Or patron may elect monthly deduction ($35.83) to a credit card. Initial charge will include a pro-rated amount for the remainder of the current month plus the following month’s full dues.
  • Please note: all community memberships are non-refundable.

Day Pass Credits

  • When the Business Center is closed, only day passes can be purchased by credit card, only.
  • One day pass can be credited towards a full membership (monthly, quarterly, or annual) if purchased outside of Business Center hours. No additional day passes purchased can be credited towards a full membership, maximum of one.
  • The day pass must be credited on the next business day, during Business Center hours.

Summer Membership

$10/week, $42.50/session, $85/whole summer
Summer Memberships are sold to continuing or recently graduated UC Davis students who are not enrolled in Summer Session courses and not paying activities fees.

Fitness Center Orientation

All members are encouraged to sign up for a Fitness Center Orientation. Conducted by an experienced Member Services Lead, the Fitness Center Orientation allows members to get acquainted with the Activities and Recreation Center by providing a comprehensive tour of the facility and an introduction to our fitness equipment. Participants of the Fitness Center Orientation will also learn how to take advantage of all the benefits provided by membership, both at the ARC and other Campus Recreation and Unions facilities. To request your Fitness Center Orientation, call the ARC Member Services Desk at 530.754.5306. You may also request the orientation in person at the Member Services Desk during ARC business hours.


Parking

The Activities and Recreation Center parking lot has day permits for $8, which can be purchased from machines in the lots (cash or credit cards accepted) and coin-metered spaces. Weeknight Parking: Free before 7 a.m. and after 10 p.m. Visitor passes can be purchased for $8 for the time in between. Weekend Parking: Free, unless there is an event.
