The 25-acre Equestrian Center operates an extensive year-round English and Western riding program. Located on campus, the center features horse-boarding facilities, a 45,000-square-foot covered riding arena, a regulation dressage court, four barns and several pastures. Whether you are new to the sport or an experienced rider, you'll gain skills and confidence under the direction of our professionally trained staff.

New Extended Hours Starting Spring 2017

The Equestrian Center is pleased to announce new extended hours for student boarders. The Equestrian Center will be open weekdays 7 a.m.–9 p.m., and 8 a.m.–8 p.m. during weekends and holidays. Let us know what you think of the change by connecting with us on Facebook.

Boarding Spaces Available at the Equestrian Center

The Equestrian Center has a stalls available for Spring Quarter boarding. Take advantage of our convenient on-campus location and ride on any or all of the equestrian teams that call the Equestrain Center home. Want to stay out of the wet weather while you're riding?  Utilize our 45,000 square foot covered arena for protected riding and training.  We boast many riding spaces, including a grass derby field and surrounding hilly galloping track, a supersized covered arena, regulation dressage court, two additional outdoor arenas, and several turnouts. The facility is fully staffed with four resident barn supervisors for 24/7 care. Stall board includes daily cleaning and twice daily feedings of grass and/or alfalfa hay. Muriel B. Gill Fee Waiver Program

The Equestrian Center is excited to offer a fee waiver program for students interested in group lessons for the upcoming school year. Made possible by a generous gift from the Gill family, current UC Davis students can apply for a fee waiver to allow them to enroll in group lessons at half the usual cost. The application period for Fall Quarter lessons is now open.  We encourage you to apply early!  The link to the application can be found here.

Fall Session I Lessons Open for Registration September 1

Fall Session I lessons open for registration September 1. Fall Session I lessons will run October 9–November 6. Spring Session II lessons will open for registration on October 23 and run November 6–December 10.  Please note there will be no group lessons the week of Thanksgiving (November 20-November 26).  Fall Quarter is a busy and vibrant time at the Equestrian Center, come join the fun and learn a new skill while you do!

Guardian Angel Training

The Guardian Angel training series will run concurrently with each lesson session. The training series is required for all individuals wishing to participate in the Guardian Angel program at the Equestrian Center. Important aspects of horse care, horse behavior and safety will be covered.
