The 25-acre Equestrian Center operates an extensive year-round English and Western riding program. Located on campus, the center features horse-boarding facilities, a 45,000-square-foot covered riding arena, a regulation dressage court, four barns and several pastures. Whether you are new to the sport or an experienced rider, you'll gain skills and confidence under the direction of our professionally trained staff.
Boarding Spaces Available at the Equestrian Center
The Equestrian Center has openings for stall spaces in Fall Quarter. Take advantage of our convenient on-campus location and ride on any or all of the equestrian teams that call the Equestrain Center home. We boast many riding spaces, including a grass derby field and surrounding hilly galloping track, a supersized covered arena, regulation dressage court, two additional outdoor arenas, and several turnouts. The facility is fully staffed with four resident barn supervisors for 24/7 care. Stall board includes daily cleaning and twice daily feedings of grass and/or alfalfa hay. Pasture board includes twice daily feeding of orchard grass hay and alfalfa hay and regular cleaning. Muriel B. Gill Fee Waiver Program
The Equestrian Center is excited to offer a new fee waiver program for students interested in group lessons for the upcoming school year. Made possible by a generous gift from the Gill family, current UC Davis students can apply for a fee waiver to allow them to enroll in group lessons at half the usual cost. The application period for spring quarter 2016 has closed. The next application period will be for Fall Quarter 2016. See the "Lessons" page for more information.
Summer Session I Lessons Open for Registration
Take the time to get outside this summer with the Equestrian Center, and enjoy the beauty Northern California has to offer. Summer Session I lessons will run June 27–July 24 and registration is currently open. Summer Session II lessons will not be held this year. You can schedule private lessons through contacting the Main Office or be on the lookout for group lessons to begin again in Fall Quarter.
Guardian Angel Training
The Guardian Angel training series will run concurrently with each lesson session. The training series is required for all individuals wishing to participate in the Guardian Angel program at the Equestrian Center. Important aspects of horse care, horse behavior and safety will be covered. Upon completion of the training series, participants will be assigned a horse and will become a Guardian Angel! Please contact the Main Office with any questions at 530-752-2372 or at email@example.com.
